Why are the Stelton brass items so rare?

The Stelton Brassware line was only in production for a limited time due to the challenges of working with brass in the Stelton factory rather than the stainless steel it was set up for. On top of that, the very different properties of brass from stainless steel has resulted in many cracked brass ashtrays and the like, and means that an already limited production has been diminished even further. This means that Stelton brass items in good condition is something to be cherished when you find them.
