This turquoise and seed pearl-set daisy pendant is a classic example of the high sentimentality displayed in Victorian jewellery.

The use of turquoise in jewellery was famously made popular by Queen Victoria, as she gifted each of the ladies in her bridal company a turquoise eagle brooch.

The blue stone was used as a symbol of luck in Victorian jewellery, and the daisy flower would symbolize innocence and purity, or cheerfulness. Seed pearls are a sign of purity – a perfect companion for the turquoise and the flower-shape. Aesthetically as well as symbolically.

This pendant is a conversion piece, the flower originally placed as a piece in a larger necklace. As times and styles have changed, the wearer has chosen to simplify the piece in order to honour the craftmanship with continued wear.

The pendant features a stunning range of shades of the Persian turquoise, adding to the great charm of this piece.
